Who We Are
The West Ivanhoe United Cricket Club (WIUCC) is located at Seddon Reserve, a quiet safe off-street park that you enter through Green Street, and has become an important part of the community landscape since its establishment in 1985.
Created over a kitchen table in Mabel Street, Ivanhoe, the Delaney and Best families were trying to sort out where their sons would play cricket. Using their links with the now defunct West Ivanhoe Football Club, the cricket club was established as the West Ivanhoe Cricket Club.
In 1991 West Ivanhoe merged with Ivanhoe Uniting Cricket Club to become West Ivanhoe Uniting Cricket Club and over the years the Uniting has been changed to United to reflect the inclusive nature of the club.
Originally WIUCC was a part of the Heidelberg District Cricket Association (HDCA), when the HDCA closed it doors the Roosters moved over to the North Metro Cricket Association (NMCA), before finally moving to the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) for the 2020/21 season.
